Parkinson’s Australia

Parkinson’s Australia is the national peak body representing people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.

As a not-for-profit organisation and Company Limited by Guarantee, Parkinson’s Australia works to:

  • Advocate for improved health policy and services
  • Support implementation of the National Parkinson’s Action Plan
  • Promote equitable access to care across Australia
  • Provide trusted information and resources
  • Strengthen collaboration across state and territory Parkinson’s organisations
  • Parkinson’s Australia is governed by a skills-based Board and operates with strong governance oversight through dedicated Audit, Risk and Finance; Governance; and Partnerships Committees.

Through initiatives like PDEX, Parkinson’s Australia is expanding its role beyond advocacy into workforce capability building. By strengthening clinician education, the organisation aims to drive systemic improvement in Parkinson’s diagnosis, treatment and long-term care.

This project reflects Parkinson’s Australia’s commitment to ensuring that every person living with Parkinson’s, regardless of location, has access to informed, coordinated and person-centred healthcare.
