Do I have to use PAM® as part of the PDEX Project?

Yes. Use of PAM® is a core component of the PDEX Project and clinicians are strongly expected to engage with it as part of their participation. You’ll be supported with training, resources and guidance to help you use PAM® confidently and appropriately.

 

Do I need to use PAM® with every patient?

For the PDEX Project, PAM® is intended to be used with patients living with Parkinson’s disease. Guidance will be provided on when and how to administer PAM® in a way that is practical and appropriate to your setting.

 

How long does PAM® take to complete?

PAM® is a short survey (13-items) and typically takes around 5 minutes for a patient to complete. It can be administered in a number of different ways.

 

How can PAM® be administered?

PAM® can be administered in several flexible ways, depending on your setting and patient needs, including:

  • Online via email sent from the Flourish platform
  • Paper version can be downloaded
  • In-practice, using a tablet or computer
  • Over the phone, with support from a clinician or staff member, if required

PAM® is available in over 50 languages. Guidance will be provided to support appropriate administration and to help integrate PAM® smoothly into routine care.

 

Is PAM® a test of my performance?

No. PAM® and Clinician Support-PAM® are not performance assessments.
They are used to support learning, reflection and improvement, and to guide education and care approaches at an individual and program level.

 

How will PAM® data be used?

PAM® data is used to:

  • PAM® Data will be de-identified and stored in Australia
  • Understand activation levels at baseline
  • Tailor education and support
  • Track changes over time
  • Inform service and care improvement

Data collection and reporting are managed through CFEP Surveys or Phreesia using the Flourish platform.

You will have access to:

  • Interactive webinars
  • Guidance and fact sheets
  • Ongoing support throughout the project

 

What if I’m new to PAM® or patient-reported measures?

That’s completely fine. Many participants are new to PAM®.
The PDEX Project is designed to build your confidence and capability step by step, starting with clinician education before PAM® is introduced into patient care.
